Customer Satisfaction: Why This Is The Most Important Part Of Entrepreneurship

Reading time ≈ 1minute

I live in a country where power supply is so bad that you have to pay vendors to help you charge your phones and other gadgets.

Sometimes, they'll be no electricity for days or even months.

This has been one of my biggest problems as a creator. In fact, the last time power was restored to our neighborhood here in Minna, Niger state was almost a week ago.

I've been relying on other people's power banks and generators. It's been brutal.

And you wanna know the worst part?

I don't see this getting better anytime soon

Am I sad by this?

Yes

Am I gonna sit around and not write you this newsletter?

If you're reading this then you already know the answer to that.

This leads me to the main point of this letter.

Customer Satisfaction: Why it's important for all business types.

When I got my first client, my goal was to make sure that he was satisfied with my coaching offer so, I included it in the curriculum.

At the end of it, he was to give me his honest feedback on the program and how I could make it better in case of next time.

He was very happy with my transparency and gladly agreed to it. I ended up getting a testimonial from him, which means more social proof for me and my marketing.

Remember, he was my very first client.

And yet, he trusted me even more than any other person that offered the same service (even those that were more “qualified” than I was)

So it's more than just filling out forms and simply asking for a review.

You need to make sure that you make the customer know what they're getting themselves into before they opt in on your offer.

And then at the end of it, ask them for their feedback.

How Satisfied Are Your Customers With Your Product/Service?

It's easy for us to forget this but it's one of the biggest factors that drives a business.

If your customers or clients are unhappy with your offer, they will just leave. Making you wonder if you need to add one more feature or one more guarantee when it's your main offer that needs work.

So if you're in this position as the businessman. Zoom out.

Look at things from a wider perspective and ask yourself what could be wrong with this offer of yours.

This is a summarised way if doing things, so allow me to explain better.

How do you actually ensure customer satisfaction and make sure that you're ahead of things?

3 ways to ensure customer satisfaction in your business:

1. Multiple Forms of Communication:

Some people like to use WhatsApp, others prefer emails.

Make sure that people can contact you through many platforms.

This will allow customers to be able to reach you regardless of who they are or what medium of communication they prefer.

2. Build a community for your customers.

Some people just want to ask questions and talk about features or something they don't understand about your product or service.

Platforms like Discord or Telegram are excellent for these types of interactions.

Create communities like these for people who have bought your offer in case they want to reach you and you don't want to deal with the hassle of replying to every single email.

You get to answer questions publicly and eliminate repeated questions and requests as the answers will be there for even future customers to see

3. Ask Questions:

Don't be arrogant to ask your customers what they think about your product.

50% of them (at least) will rather keep their opinions to themselves than tell you on their own without being made to.

And that also means they will rather just stop using your product than come to tell you what you need to improve on. And that can be a big problem for your business.

Ask your customers questions so they can tell you exactly what they think about your product.

I hope you learnt something from this letter today.

I'll see you next week
