How to be productive as a creator

Reading time ≈ 1 minute

It doesn't take much to be productive.

I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time searching for the best productivity techniques, books and unnecessarily practices.

When truly. What I really needed was just few reminders, alarms and calendar tweaks.

So today. We'll look at a few different ways to go from missing deadlines to always being on time for your meetings.

So yes…a productivity email.

A Productivity Deep Dive

I read a short article by The New York Times on productivity for 9-5 workers a few hours ago.

Jobs take a crazy amount of time each day so I thought it would be interesting to see what they had in store for me

They made mention of three basic productivity advices. Here they are:

  1. Trust the small increments

  2. Be Accountable

  3. Forgive Yourself

So today's deep dive will be based on these, what I think they mean and how you can use them to get more work done in less time.

But first, let me make something clear…

The article was written to help 9-5 workers. Not content creators or founders.

That's where I come in.

Alright let's go…

1. Trust the small increments:

We as humans are fond of having huge goals.

We become anxious when we don't hit them and completely overlook all the milestones we've already had.

As a creator. You need to be conscious of this.

Appreciate every like, retweet, comment, feedback and of course, followers and clients.

The more you do this, the easier it becomes to be consistent. And yeah, keep a positive attitude.

2. Be Accountable:

Wanna know the main reason why you aren't getting things done on time?

It's because you don't have a system that tells you when you're not committed and sets you straight.

This system can be as simple as having someone tell you when it's time to do something.

A Personal Assistant so to say…

Having to answer to someone else can often force you to get the job done.

3. Forgive Yourself:

You are not perfect. No one is.

So don't beat yourself up over roadblocks. Don't make yourself be the bad guy and the victim.

Instead. Pick yourself up, try again, fail again, fail better and then succeed.

Summary For You

This deep dive makes us understand that there are 3 things you must do to have a positive mindset towards work and be productive. Namely:

  1. Trust the small increments

  2. Be accountable

  3. Forgive yourself

While there are a lot of practices to keep you motivated and ready to work, these three will be your guiding light when using any of them.

And that will be all for the week.

Hopefully you learnt something new from this issue and I will see you next Sunday.

Peace out ☮️
