How to start an online business and SELLOUT!
5 step framework to building your biz

Reading time ≈ 2 mins.
The easiest way to start a business is NOT by investing a large sum of money into it.
Many people fall victim of this problem.
They build a product and then there's no one to buy it.
So what should you do?
Instead of wasting your money on gambling on what could be the right answer.....try probing the market to see what would actually sell.
Build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
The best way to ensure that people buy your stuff is to sell based off the data collected from the market.
But how do you do this?
Follow patterns and listen for clues
I've been privileged to look at the systems of most big accounts and many of them follow this 5 step framework to building a business.
So without further ado, let's dive into this list:
5 Step Framework To Building Your Biz
1. Speak with a SKILLED friend:
This is especially true when you're new in that type of business.
Maybe you're more of a Copywriter for E-commerce brands but you want to create a SaaS product.
What do you do?
You talk to a web developer or your SaaS guy to put you through. Right?
You can't just go into any business blindly.
Get someone who can put you through on what you actually need to do to succeed in the business (even if it's paid)
2. Probe The Market:
Now that you have a plan in place after speaking with an expert.
It's time for an experiment.
You need either of these two things for this stage.
An ad account
An engaged social media audience (at least up to 1000)
Now for the main course...
What you should do now is to listen through the noise.
Look for other posts on the topic surrounding your business.
Whether it's about Copywriting or Freelancing.
Check out what people are saying about them.
But you're not building your business based on just these posts. You'll need to look at the comments as well.
Why are people mentioning this person/tool/policy under this post?
What reactions do people have about this post?
All these different questions will help you create a hypothesis about what people actually need.
For example:
Imagine there's a post made about masculinity and how important it is for a man to lift weights and build muscle.
And then there's a comment under it saying....
"It would be awesome to go to the gym, but not everyone has a $200 monthly gym membership"
Now you know that there are some people out there that don't have enough money to go to the gym.
If you're into fitness, you can easily create a $50 course teaching others the basics of body building.
But that's not all...
Using either ads or organic content.
Put out a video or long form post talking about the different solutions you have to their problems.
People will listen to you and will be drawn to your brand.
Now for the big guns.
3. Add Them To A List:
You now have an idea of what your market really wants.
What next?
There are many steps you can take to continue this process but this is my favorite one.
Make Your Audience Wait After Paying.
Validate your ideas before selling them out.
No army can withstand the strength of an idea whose time has come.
Judging by the percentage of sign-ups, you should have an idea of how much people want your solution.
So why not charge them for it?
Tell people to pay to be added to a private community where the release of the product will be officially announced.
Since you've given them a reason to trust you ( your content) most of them will agree.
Now you have made money without even owning any product....yet.
Now for the next stage...
4. Build Your MVP:
Now you KNOW your audience want your product seeing as they signed up for your private community.
Now it's time to fulfill your promise and actually give them what they want.
You don't need to spend much building your product.
Just add enough effort to satisfy your customers.
And now lastly...
5. Collect Testimonials:
Reach out to the people in your private community and ask them for Testimonials.
Shouldn't be hard given that you've gotten them results already.
Create a wall of love with testimonial.io to save yourself the stress of collecting them.
And with that, you can go ahead and sell your finished product with the assurance that people out there WILL buy it.
See you next Sunday
