My Struggles as a Creator

For the past few weeks, I've been in a deep rut.

My exams are fast approaching, I haven't written a thread in weeks and it's been about 2 months since I last had a client

But why?

In today's deep dive, I'll be talking about my current struggles, my plan to solve them and a few tips to help those facing similar issues.

So without further ado, let's dive in

A Deep Dive on My Struggles

Nowadays, it feels like all I'm good for is writing tweets.

And that's so not true

I haven't written a thread in weeks, even sending DMs is now a chore.

Not that I'm lazy or anything. I just REALLY don't want to do them anymore.

I've done all that for a year now and for what?

But don't get me wrong. I still enjoy writing, just not in a competitive way with others where it's like if you don't write for a few days, you're thrown back to square one.

And that's exactly how it's been for me now.

A do or lose affair and it's taken away the joy of creating something useful and exciting for the community. From a hobby to a chore.

I actually made a tweet about this yesterday.

Everyone told me that I was burnt out. They were right.

So I came up with an idea to solve this.

A list of all the things I'm doing, whether they're working or not and a better alternative or just how they work.

I'll be sharing them with you today in the form of this table:

Now I don't want this letter to be all sad and depressing. So let's switch to a more refreshing but a bit off context discussion.

My Plan to Create My First Video Game

About a week ago, I came up with this brilliant video game idea.

It's going to be battle royale type of game with hundred of characters to choose from. Some of which you have to buy (premium bundles) but you can grind to get the others.

Same goes for the weapons as well (swords, bows & arrows, guns, axes and so much more).

These characters will be categorized in classes:

  • Attack (frontliners)

  • Defense (the shields of the teams)

  • Support (healers, long range attackers, campers)

  • Center (the first line of both defense and attack)

  • Tanks (similar to defense types but with high attack stats, totally broken)

And with several game modes like capture the flag, domination, last man standing and so many more to come.

I'm so freaking hyped up to start this project as I'm already a game nerd.

And now to the boring details.

I found out that I need some knowledge in some languages like C++, Java, Java script, swift, HTML5 and a few others.

I'm honestly not intimidated.

In fact, I've already started learning C++, after which I'll hop over to Java script.
